When someone asks for a clean, faster and SEO ready WordPress theme, we will always recommend the Genesis Framework by StudioPress. Most of my friends are running their blog on top of the Genesis Framework. Recently, one of our users asked about the post meta in Genesis Framework’s homepage.
All she wants to do is, remove it from the homepage. So, in this post, we are going to show you that how can you disable post meta in Genesis Framework homepage. It’s pretty simple that you think!
How To Disable Post Meta In Genesis Framework Homepage?
First of all, make sure that you have installed and activated the Genesis Framework and a child theme. In our case, we are using the Generate Pro child theme. If you are using the framework alone, you must consider using a child theme.
I repeat, you must.
Alright. You can see on the homepage, there post meta is showing. It will show the category name and tags. Most folks don’t need to show them in the front page.
In the beginning, we were also showing them on our front page. But later, removed.
All you need to do is simply add some code to your theme’s functions file. So go to the theme editor and select the functions.php file.
Now, copy the below code.
//* Remove entry meta from home, posts and pages remove_action( 'genesis_entry_footer', 'genesis_post_meta' );
Paste it on your functions.php file and update the file.
UPDATE: We have added an advanced code which will remove entry meta from posts, pages, and custom post types. Not only from the homepage. The code works fine without any error. Paste it on the functions.php file.
Once you have done that, you need to check your website from the front end. The post meta will be removed.
